Marlene Hansen

I’m Marlene Hansen, co-founder at Neat & Noted Bookkeeping.

I bring a steady, detail-focused approach to bookkeeping built on formal training, professional accounting experience, business ownership, and years of structured teaching and leadership.

I studied bookkeeping and spent a year working for an accountant, gaining extensive hands-on experience with reconciliations, reporting, compliance, and accurate financial recordkeeping. That experience strengthened my understanding of proper accounting practices and reinforced the importance of consistency and precision.

In addition, I have co-owned and operated our family for many years alongside my husband where my responsibilities focused on organization, financial accuracy, and consistency behind the scenes. This included maintaining records, monitoring expenses, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring systems stayed organized day-to-day. Working in an environment where small discrepancies quickly become big problems reinforced my commitment to clean records, routine reviews, and dependable financial processes.

Alongside my professional work, I have been a homeschooling mother, personally educating my children across multiple subjects. Homeschooling requires organization, structure, adaptability, and long-term planning, the same skills essential to effective bookkeeping.

Teaching from the ground up means breaking complex information into clear systems, tracking progress consistently, and maintaining accountability. This experience sharpened my ability to manage details, follow structured processes, and ensure nothing is overlooked, qualities that directly support accurate, well-maintained financial records.

I take a methodical, reliable approach to bookkeeping. I value clean records, clear documentation, and proactive organization so business owners can feel confident and prepared, not rushed or uncertain.

Jayda Hansen

Hi, I’m Jayda Hansen, cofounder of Neat & Noted Bookkeeping.

I’m a bookkeeper by education, an entrepreneur by nature, and someone who genuinely cares about helping small businesses grow with clarity and confidence.

My background is a little unconventional, and that’s exactly what shapes how I work.

Alongside my formal education in bookkeeping, I’ve spent years working hands-on in real businesses, not just behind a screen.

My family owns a restaurant, and I’ve helped manage and operate it for several years. That experience gave me practical, real-world insight into daily cash flow, inventory, payroll, vendor relationships, margins, and the importance of accurate, up-to-date books. Restaurants don’t survive on guesswork, they survive on tight systems and clear numbers and that lesson shaped how I approach bookkeeping today.

In parallel, I built a personal brand as a professional drummer and social media influencer, growing a combined audience of over one million followers across all platforms. Building and monetizing online platforms taught me strategy, analytics, discipline, and financial organization, skills that directly translate into helping business owners stay profitable and prepared.

All of these experiences showed me the same thing:

when finances are organized and transparent, businesses grow stronger, and when they aren’t, stress and uncertainty take over.

That realization is what led me to start Neat & Noted Bookkeeping.  Outside of bookkeeping, I’m passionate about Drumming, Baking, Nutrition & Making candles.

I’m extremely focused and determined, especially when it comes to supporting small businesses. I understand how personal a business is because I’ve been inside one.

I approach bookkeeping with the same mindset I bring to every area of my life, Structure over chaos, Consistency over shortcuts, and Integrity over quick fixes
